May 2018 – It’s LPGA time!

Allison Emrey 2018 LPGA Tour - Rookie Year 2 Comments

When I received my LPGA card with partial eligibility last December, I wasn’t sure if my Priority List ranking would be high enough to get into many 2018 LPGA events.

In April, I was thrilled to get into my FIRST LPGA tournament! It was held in Hawaii, I made the cut to play all four days and earned a paycheck! It was a fantastic experience; I learned more about the LPGA organization and I valued the opportunity to compete at this level!

At this point in my career, these opportunities to compete in the LPGA come just shortly before the events begin. Please check back to this website from time to time to see where I will be playing.

The month of May is starting off well – I will compete in the Dallas LPGA tournament May 3-6!

Update May 9, 2018 – This week the LPGA looked at each player’s results from this year’s tournaments and then reshuffled the lower parts of the Priority List accordingly.  I am excited to say that I moved up on this list to the place where I think I will get into many of the LPGA regular U.S. tournaments!  I will be playing in the Williamsburg tournament next week and my Dad will be on bag!
I still have a lot of work to do, rounds to play, and putts to make.  Many thanks to everyone for being in my corner and for encouraging me as I follow my professional dream.

(With the weather delays, only completed ten holes in the rain on Friday.  Saturday’s play was delayed due to rain and course conditions – tournament reduced to 56 holes and now R2 will be resumed on Sunday at 7:30 am.)

I’m happy to have my parents with me this week.  We practiced early Monday morning and my mom took this photo of the 17th green.

During the first round, on Thursday, River Course’s 15th hole honored service members.

It was so nice to have military members tend the flag for us that day.  With a strong military presence in this area, I appreciated being able to thank them for their service.

May 3-6 at Old American Golf Club in The Colony, TX
4 days    144 players (cut to the top 70 and ties earn a payout)
72 holes (event cut to 36 holes)    71 par    6,475 yards   Purse: $1,300,000

Tee Times:
Day One    7:11 AM CDT      Tee 10

Thursday’s very limited play (one hour and nine minutes) has been erased due to the up to 30 mph winds oscillating several players’ balls; play was suspended; and Round One now starts Friday at 7AM.
Round One FINALLY got underway at 3:30 PM CDT, and somehow our group managed to finish our 18 holes om Friday!  Not sure yet when I will start our Round Two.

Day Two (Final Round)    updated time:  11:50 AM CDT (Sunday)    Tee 1
Group 27   with same pairing
