I had a great three weeks at home practicing and playing. The first week I was able to go and watch the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow. It was great to see all the PGA Tour players I watch on TV! The next two weeks I had time to play a lot in preparations for the final stretch on tour. There are 6 events left and I plan on playing in all of them.
The first three events are in South Dakota, Kansas, and Arkansas. I will be leaving this Friday to drive to South Dakota so I will have my car for these events. Looking forward to getting to cooler, less muggy weather!
Early in Round One
During the Pro Am Party, I got “volunteered” to assist Chuck, “The Hit Man” in one of his stunts.
I am happy with my play at the Great Life Challenge in South Dakota. I played consistent all four days and felt like I put myself in contention going into the last two days. The first round got off to a great start with five birdies on my front nine. I was able to keep that momentum going into the second round. The third round I played really well shooting four under. The last round was very windy and made for a tough day, however, I was able to secure a top ten finishing T8.
Tee Time Day One 8:44 AM CDT Tee 1
Group 9 with Lindsey McPherson (Flushing, MI) and Yu Eun Eunice Kim (Seoul, South Korea)
Tee Time Day Two 1:24 PM CDT Tee 10
Group 32 (same pairing)
I feel as though this course is one of the toughest we play all year when it is windy. There is nothing to stop the wind because the course is wide open with not many trees.
The first day I played in the morning and was able to finish with a score of par. It was an up and down round with my first eagle of the season. The second day I played in the afternoon and the wind was steadily blowing 30 mph. I felt like I hit the ball fine but struggled with putting. I ended up missing the cut but learned a lot about my game with strong wind conditions.
Tee Time Day One 7:48 AM CDT Tee 10
Group 8 with Marita Engzelius (Oslo, Norway) and Christine Meier (Rochester Hills, MI)
Tee Time Day Two 12:33 PM CDT Tee 1
Group 29 (same pairing)
Tee Time Day Three 8:03 AM CDT Tee 1
Group 7 with Kim Welch and Michelle Piyapattra
I was really excited to head to El Dorado because it is one of my favorite courses all year. It is a great challenge and is always in really good shape. I am happy with my play this week finishing T27. I felt as though my putting was not my best, so I am glad I was able to still play well.
I am looking forward to the last three weeks of the season and hoping for a strong finish!
