“I’m exactly where I want to be, doing exactly what I want to do!” What an incredible start to my professional career! I’m so thankful for these amazing experiences and all the opportunities to learn and grow. I’ve learned about myself and about playing golf for a living. I now know where my game is at under high pressure situations and also what I need to work on moving forward!
Last week I played in the high-stakes and demanding four-day, 72-hole Qualifying School (Q-School) Tournament at the Mission Hills Country Club. The courses were familiar as I had just played and practiced on both of them – The Dinah Shore Championship and The Arnold Palmer. The unfamiliar element that I faced was playing at this level of competition and consequence. I have to say that it was pretty intense, but I was able to rely on my past experience and preparations to keep my head in the game (as much as was possible) and find joy in the playing.
The weather this week was even a little hotter and the winds across this desert area came into play during a couple of the days.
Overall, I was extremely happy with the way I handled the pressure especially on the last day. In two weeks, I will be competing in Colorado and in October – Stage II of Q-School.
