As snow flurries descended on Charlotte this morning, my first thoughts were “How do I practice on this cold and wet day? Again!” but, then my excitement mounted when I looked ahead … “On Monday, I will be in southern California where it is warm!”.
I’m headed to Beaumont, CA in the Greater Los Angeles area where I will compete in my first Symetra event as a pro!
The fifth annual IOA Championship opens the 2016 Symetra Tour season and The Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon (Par 72) is hosting the event. This year’s field consists of 108 professional golfers competing for the total tournament purse of $100,000 as well as the first step on their personal “Road to the LPGA”. The tournament starts on Friday, February 19, with a cut to the top 60 plus ties after Saturday’s play, and the 54-hole event ends on Sunday, February 21.
