SunCoast Ladies Tour’s Mission Hills Tournament | Allison Emrey

The long-awaited trip is here! So excited to be in southern California! Overjoyed to finally be starting my professional career!

This week and next I am playing in the SunCoast Ladies Tour at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California. This is a resort community of Palm Springs, about a hundred miles east of Los Angeles. It’s so beautiful here- on the desert valley floor between two majestic mountain ranges and lined with lofty palm trees.

This week I competed on the Dinah Shore Tournament Course. My aunt tells me that Dinah Shore was quite the a-list celebrity back in the day. The course was narrow with undulated greens. The greens were Bermuda with lots of grain in them and were rolling pretty slow.

The weather this week was hot but with lower humidity. The winds were mainly calm and we didn’t have any rain. We played mostly in the mornings and avoided the 100+ degrees of the afternoons.
